Hiring in Venezuela · Corporate & commercial
Hire sales and commercial managers in Venezuela.
Commercial hiring succeeds or fails on channel fit. Selling capital equipment to industrial buyers has almost nothing in common with selling services to public-sector clients, however similar the CVs look.
Why this role is hard to get right
Relationships are the asset, and relationships are the hardest thing to verify. The interview has to get specific about which accounts, which buyers and which decisions the person actually influenced.
What we need defined before we search
- Buyer type and channel: industrial, distribution, public sector, consumer, partner-led.
- Whether the role opens new accounts, manages existing ones, or both.
- Territory, travel expectations and the size of any team.
- Commercial authority: pricing latitude, discounting and contract sign-off.
How candidates are screened
- Account-level interviewing: named sectors, buyer roles and deal shapes, not activity claims.
- Verification of employment, targets and results claimed, to the extent references allow.
- Reference conversations focused on how the person behaved when targets were missed.
- Assessment of the language level the role genuinely requires.
How the role is engaged
Permanent employment is normal. Where you are testing a market before committing, a defined-term arrangement can be appropriate, and we will tell you where that does or does not hold up.
What drives the cost
- Seniority, territory and team size
- Base and variable structure, and how commission is set
- Travel, vehicle and communications obligations
- Language requirement
Your proposal separates compensation, applicable employer costs, agreed benefits, service fees and any project-specific expenses.
Questions buyers ask
- Can you tell us what a commercial manager costs in Venezuela?
- We quote it for your specific role rather than publishing a range. Send the scope, location and seniority and you receive a proposal that separates compensation, applicable employer costs, agreed benefits and our service fee, so you can see exactly what each line pays for.
- Do we need our own Venezuelan entity to hire this role?
- Not necessarily. We review your specific case and tell you in writing which employment routes are open to you, including whether an Employer of Record arrangement is appropriate and available for that role.
- Can you hire one person, or is there a minimum?
- One role is a normal way to start. Single hires, replacement hires and full project crews all go through the same process.
